Birth
A unique experience for every woman. Everyone has their story.
Mark’s Account -
We were to have a little girl. Sitting in the waiting room, not knowing what we were about to have….and going through the alphabet online, trying to figure out the right name for our daughter. I was that convinced we were having a girl that I hadn’t worried about choosing any boys names. Nothing stood out, we got to X – there you have it. Xavier (if it’s a boy). Skye/Portia if it’s a girl.
Ali’s Account -
Sitting in the waiting room, feeling hot and stuffy, the nurse said we had over an hour to wait so we could go for a walk. We found a big lounge area and I finally had time to show Mark the App on my phone called Kinder where you choose baby names. Pink for girls, blue for boys. Throughout my pregnancy Mark was convinced we were having a girl. I told him half-way through I think it’s a boy but he wasn’t convinced. We liked Skye, Lily and Chenoa, one I liked (meaning white dove). Looking at this app together, we went through the alphabet and like Mark, nothing stood out until Xavier came up, we looked at each other and said that’s it - Xavier Birtwistle. I took a screenshot of his name and then it was time to go and deliver our baby. We had 12 years to pick a name and we chose his name right before he arrived into this world.
The most important items I took with me to the hospital was my Birth Kit that Joc and family had so kindly made for me. I was so grateful for this. I also a diffuser for my room, Mark made up containers of Gia H20 I-Water daily for me and I made sure my Gialife Pendant was always on and harmoniser plugged in behind my bed, protecting us from all the electrical equipment.

I now love to make these up for new mums to be as I know how valuable it was for me. The nurses and doctors were also amazed that I refused all pain management medication, I had my oils.
